These terms apply to Free Mahjong Solitaire, the free browser game at easymahjongsolitaire.com ("the site," "we," or "us"). By using the site, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.
What this site is
Free Mahjong Solitaire is a collection of simple, relaxed browser games — Mahjong Solitaire, a Daily Challenge, and Five in a Row — designed to be easy to read and unhurried to play, with large tiles, high contrast, and no countdown timers. Everything runs in your browser; there is nothing to download or install.
We may add, change, or remove games and features at any time, and we may take the site offline temporarily or permanently. We don't promise that any particular game, layout, or feature will stay available.
Free to use, no account needed
The site is free to play. There is no sign-up, no account, no password, and no subscription. Your board, settings, statistics, badges, and Daily Challenge history are saved only in your own browser's local storage — see the Privacy Policy for the details.
Because there is no account, there is also no backup on our side. If you clear your browser's site data, switch browsers or devices, or play in a private window, your saved progress is gone and we cannot restore it. Settings includes a Backup & Restore tool that turns your progress into a text code you can keep yourself — that is the only way to carry progress between devices.
Acceptable use
You may play the games as much as you like, for personal enjoyment, and you may link to any page on the site freely.
Please don't:
- Interfere with the site or try to disrupt it for other people, including by overloading it with automated requests, scraping it at scale, or attempting to gain unauthorized access to any part of it.
- Copy the site or its games and republish them as your own, or embed them in another site or app without our permission.
- Remove, hide, or block the site's notices, credits, or advertising as part of redistributing it to others.
- Use the site for anything unlawful, or in a way that infringes someone else's rights.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or modify the site's code in order to redistribute a changed version of it.
Using an ad blocker, a screen reader, browser zoom, or any other accessibility or privacy tool while you personally play is entirely fine and is not restricted by these terms.
Ownership of the games and site content
The design, code, artwork, tile graphics, text, and layout of this site are our own work and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. We keep all rights that we don't explicitly grant here.
What we do grant you is a personal, non-exclusive, revocable permission to load and play the games in your browser for your own non-commercial enjoyment. That permission does not include copying, redistributing, selling, sublicensing, or building a derivative product from the site's content.
Mahjong solitaire and five-in-a-row are traditional games; the underlying rules are not owned by anyone, and nothing here claims otherwise. Any third-party names or trademarks that appear on the site belong to their respective owners and are used only to identify those parties.
Third-party advertising
We intend to show advertising on this site through Google AdSense and similar third-party ad networks to help cover hosting costs. Those ads are chosen and delivered by the ad providers, not by us.
We don't endorse advertised products or services, and we aren't responsible for the content of ads or for anything on the sites they lead to. Any dealings you have with an advertiser — including purchases — are between you and that advertiser. How ad providers may use cookies and similar technologies, and how you can adjust or opt out of personalized advertising, is explained in the Privacy Policy.
No warranties
The site is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied — including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
We don't promise that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of bugs, that saved progress will always be preserved, or that the site will work correctly on every browser or device. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain warranties to be excluded, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of the site — including lost game progress, lost statistics or badges, lost time, or device or data problems.
Because the site is free, our total liability to you for any claim relating to the site is limited to the amount you paid to use it, which is zero. Again, some jurisdictions don't allow these limits, so parts of this section may not apply to you; where that is the case, our liability is limited to the smallest extent the law permits.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time — for example, if we add a game or change how advertising works. When we do, we'll revise this page and update the "Last updated" date at the top. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated terms, so it's worth glancing at this page occasionally.
